As of June 1st, Leawood-based employment search firm, LandaJob has a new owner. Founder of LandaJob, Landa Williams, started looking for a buyer two years ago. After 33 years of finding top-of-the-line-talent for the the marketing, advertising, graphic design, communications, and P.R. industry, Williams was ready to hand over the reins.
Sloan Short of O'Keeffe & O'Malley was the Managing Director for the deal. "The chemistry between the buyer and seller was immediate and it just seemed like a perfect match." stated Short.
Mark Perrin, who was president of Kansas City-based marketing agency McCormick Co. for about 20 years, was an ideal choice for LandaJob. McCormick Co is a full-service marketing communications agency focused on the food, agriculture/biotechnology, pets/vets, financial services and health care industries.
"I really wanted to see (LandaJob) carry on, and after 33 years, I thought somebody else better take the helm," Williams said. "Notice I'm not saying retire. But I wanted somebody else to take the helm who was ready to take it to the next level and had the resources and the marketing background to do that."
"Anybody can start an ad agency. Not everybody can manage one and run one profitably and successfully," stated Williams. "And the people who had worked for Mark spoke so highly of him, and that made a lot of difference."
Both Williams and Perrin share a passion for building relationship with clients and connecting their clients with the best talent possible.
Perrin plans on adding legal and accounting recruiting to their offering, both direct hire and contract/temporary.
A new owner isn't the only big change within the company. As of July 1st, the LandaJob office was moved to a new and bigger space at 8700 State Line, Suite 330 in Leawood. LandaJob will retain its seven employees, and continue to grow their business by adding two recruiters toward the end of the fourth quarter.
