Vet Therapeutics Inc. Sells Business to Kansas City Firm

San Diego-based Vet Therapeutics Inc. has sold its business to Aratana Therapeutics Inc., which is based in Kansas City, Kansas. Aratana, a start-up animal therapeutics company in 2010, will pay Vet Therapeutics equity holders $30 million in cash, plus common stock worth about $14.7 million. They will also pay another $5 million contingent upon a new product reaching certain milestones.
