Metropolitan Bank Sells Business to Simmons First National Corp

Metropolitan Bank, based in Little Rock, has sold to Simmons First National Corp., the parent company of Simmons First National Bank, for $53.6 million. The acquisition adds about $991 million in assets to Simmons First National Corp., increasing its size by about 50 percent. The company has four branches in the Kansas City area.
