Gift Card Impressions of Kansas City Sells to InComm, a leading prepaid product and payments technology company based in Atlanta. As of June 1st, the acquisition was closed. GCI and InComm have been working together for a number of years and the decision to purchase GCI was a relatively easy choice.
Brett Glass, CEO of Gift Card Impressions, credits InComm as a pioneer in the industry since developing and patenting the point-of-sale activation technology that enables retailers to offer prepaid products, such as retailer gift cards, that won't be activated until checking out.
GCI creates digital messaging that engages their users with fun, interactive, and engaging technologies that captures the attention of their users as well as creating highly personalized interactive messages.
For InComm, GCI offers key technology that not only personalizes the gift card giving experiences, but transforms what could be viewed as a "boring gift card" into a fun and exciting experience, said Jeff Baker, executive vice president of mergers and acquisitions at InComm.
Moving forward, GCI will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary, and InComm will retain GCI's Kansas City office and its nearly 40 employees.
