A group of mostly local Kansas City investors has bought Three Dog Bakery, a multimillion-dollar dog treat and dog food company. The bakery sells its all-natural products in one corporate-owned store in Kansas City, online, and in 35 licensed or franchised stores in the U.S., Canada and Hong Kong. It also provides private label products to pet retailers, grocers, drug stores and other outlets. The company was founded in the 1980s as KC-K9 Bakery. The investors include Aziz Giga, Jeff Fromm and Ken Linge. The new owners plan to immediately improve tehcnology and production processses and increase capacity in the compay's manufacturing facility on North Topping Avenue. The selling price was not disclosed.
