Garry Gribble Sells to The Running Specialty Group

Garry Gribble Running Sports has been acquired by The Running Specialty Group. Garry Gribble started his business with one store Kansas City in 1984 and built the business to five stores that focus on products for serious runners. Stores are located in Kansas City, Overland Park, Independence, Lawrence and Topeka. The company was well-known for the running expertise of its 70 employees.
Denver-based The Running Specialty Group is part of The Finish Line, a national athletic shoe chain. The Running Specialty Group has been built through acquisition of small chains and now has 64 stores in 15 states and D.C.
Gribble stores will continue to operate under the Gribble Name, and may add stores. Terms of the acquisition were not released.
