Elwood Staffing Acquires Spencer Reed Division

Overland Park-based Spencer Reed Group has sold its Encore Staffing Services division to Columbus, Indiana-based Elwood Staffing. Spencer Reed’s Encore provides temporary commercial staffing services from 12 branches, and employs 37 people. The sale will allow Spencer Reed to focus on and grow its core strength, which is professional and technical staffing specialties for engineering, accounting, information technology, legal and business services.
Elwood employs about 1,000 people in 250 offices throughout the country and in Canada. Its annual revenue is about $900 million. Encore is Elwood’s second acquisition this year. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.
