Independence-based Dollins Tool was acquired by a Swiss automation and tool manufacturer for an undisclosed amount.

Dollins Tool joins two other companies in Mold & Robotics Group. H. Müller-Fabrique de Moules in Switzerland is the platform company for the recently founded Mold & Robotics Group, which also acquired CBW Automation in Fort Collins, Colo., in November.

Dollins Tool was founded in 1952 and is a major supplier of high-speed, multi-cavity packaging injection molds for the plastics industry. According to the company's LinkedIn page, it employs 11 to 50.

The company has been making molds for some of the most popular product containers found on store shelves in the United States, for brands such as Crystal Light, I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter and Blue Bunny. The company is especially adept at making thin-wall packaging, with parts as thin as those typically produced by competitors using thermoforming techniques.

Mold & Robotics Group intends to make more add-on acquisitions to build the company into a worldwide, technologically pioneering industrial group in tooling and automation.
