Overland Park based, WellSky Corporation, a leading health and community care technology company, and ClearCare, Inc. a leading provider of a software-as-a-service platform used by personal care agencies, announced that WellSky has signed an agreement to acquire ClearCare. With the addition of ClearCare, WellSky solidifies its position in the personal care market, adding to the company’s already robust set of solutions and services for post-acute and community care. The transaction will close subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals.
Personal care (also commonly referred to as “home care” or “private duty”) agencies support people who need in-home caregivers to complete activities of daily living — which include cooking, bathing, housekeeping, and transportation to appointments. In today’s value-based care environment, it is widely recognized that personal care can improve the management of chronic conditions and reduce costly hospitalizations.

To help personal care agencies prioritize their caregiving services, ClearCare’s SaaS platform delivers functionality to optimize billing, staff management, care delivery, and referral management processes. This technology powers the largest network of in-home care providers, including eight of the 10 largest agencies. More than 600,000 caregivers across 4,000 personal care agencies in the U.S. and Canada leverage ClearCare’s platform to care for 500,000 seniors every year. In addition to its established personal care platform, ClearCare’s new EHR-agnostic care coordination platform enables home health and hospice providers, like Amedisys, to partner with personal care agencies in closing the gaps in care.
