Kansas City ad man, Bob Bernstein, sold a majority stake in his Beauty Brands, Inc. business to an unnamed West Coast private equity group. Beauty Brands operates 54 salons and day spas, and employs 1,800 professionals in 11 states. The franchise concept will continue to be based in Kansas City.
