Agspring Makes Two More Acquisitions

Leawood-based Agspring has announced the formation of Function-O Foods, which is a functional food company. Functional foods are foods that go beyond basic nutrition by providing other health benefits. The new company is the result of Agspring’s acquisition of Simply Omega and Organic ID. Function-O Foods will be headquartered in the Kansas City area. Simply Omega is a foodservice protein brand, and Organic ID is a consumer food ingredient producer. The two companies mark the fifth and sixth acquisitions by Agspring over the past year. The selling price was not disclosed.
