Overland Park Energy Company Acquired

Overland Park-based Acumen Energy Solutions Inc has sold its supply-side division to Brightergy LLC. Brightergy is an energy company that focuses on more efficient forms of energy, such as solar energy, Capstone MicroTurbines, and other tools and services. The company has offices in Kansas City, St. Louis and Massachusetts.

The purchase of Acumen’s supply side business will give Brightergy the resources to provide customers with energy intelligence to better manage the cost, creation and consumption of energy. Services include rate optimization, utility management and reporting, infrastructure advisory and utility tax management. The company works with multi-site owners and operators of commercial, industrial and institutional facilities. 

Acumen’s supply-side employees and clients will become part of Brightergy; however, Acumen’s demand-side capital projects have not been acquired.

The purchase price was not disclosed.
