FishNet Security Merges with Colorado Firm

Overland Park, KS-based FishNet Security Inc has merged with Denver-based Accuvant Inc. FishNet is a leading provider of information security services and solutions. The company was founded in 1996 and employs about 700 people.

Accuvant was founded in 2002, and provides IT security services to businesses, governments and educational institutions across the country. The two companies currently share very few customers.

The new, combined company will have 60 offices, training and security operations locations across the United States and Canada and have more than 1,400 total employees customers, more than 650 consultants and engineers, as well as managed security services and product services. The new name, marketing strategy and corporate headquarters will be determined at a later date.

The merger is expected to close in early 2015. Terms of the merger were not disclosed, but private equity firm Blackstone will maintain majority ownership in the combined company.
