Combat Brands Acquires Fitness First

Lenexa, KS-based Combat Brands, LLC has acquired Kansas City’s Fitness First, Inc. Combat Brands provides boxing, mixed martial arts and fitness equipment. The company is owned by Greg Orman, a former U.S. Senate candidate in Kansas.

Fitness First, also a fitness equipment provider, will move into Combat Brands’ headquarters, but will still operate as Fitness First. All employees have been offered jobs.

Combat Brands was founded in 2012. Products include Ringside, Combat Sports International and Contender Fight Sports. The company also operates the Ringside World Championship boxing tournament in the Kansas City area and sponsors Golden Gloves, Silver Gloves and the Police Athletic League.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. Fitness First was represented by Kansas City M&A firm, O’Keeffe & O’Malley.
